The ME Association

The ME Association provides information, support and practical advice for people who are affected by ME/CFS/PVFS (Myalgic Encephalopathy/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome), their families and carers. They also fund and support research, and offer education and training.

Action for M.E. is the UK's leading charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with M.E. They have been at the forefront of the campaign for more research, better treatments and services since 1987, and they provide information and support to people affected by M.E.

The 25% ME Group
-
There are approximately 200,000 people in the UK who suffer from M.E. Some do recover. However, approximately 25% of sufferers remain long term ill and severely disabled by the disease. Many are left isolated, housebound or even bedbound by the effects of the illness. It affects people from all walks of life, all age groups and can strike when you are least expecting it. The 25% M.E. Group exists to support all who have the severe form of M.E. and those who care for them. This includes people who are housebound, bedbound and wheelchair users.

Tymes Trust

Tymes Trust is the longest established national UK service for children and young people with ME and their families. Invest in ME is an independent UK charity campaigning for bio-medical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.), as defined by WHO-ICD-10-G93.3. They have links nationwide and also internationally via thier membership of the European ME Alliance. Their aim is to bring together like-minded individuals and groups to campaign for research and funding to establish an understanding of the Aetiology (causes), Pathogenesis (harmful effects) and Epidemiology (the pattern of distribution of a disease through a population) of M.E. This should lead to the development of a universal diagnosis of M.E. and, subsequently, medical treatments to cure or alleviate the effects of the illness.
