Free Legal Advice

I: Disability Law Service

The Disability Law Service offers free, confidential legal advice and representation in the Greater London area for disabled people covering rights, employment, care, etc, including welfare benefits.

You can contact them and they will arrange a telephone appointment for you with the appropriate legal expert.

Their website is www.dls.org.uk

Advice line is 020 7791 9800 10am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm Monday to Friday.

E-mail: advice@dls.org.uk

They also produce a wide range of factsheets (including large-print versions) which you can download free from their website or order by phone.

These include what looks like a very useful factsheet on DLA appeals.

We are happy to print out and forward fact sheets to our members who are not online. E-mail Linda at: randkmegroup@yahoo.co.uk or call her on 020 8977 1508.

A Message from RLAS Secretary, Victor Warner

Providing Legal Advice by E-mail

We wish to take what practical steps we can, given the limited way in which we operate, to make sure that disabled persons in the London Borough of Richmond can make better use of Richmond Legal Advice Service.

Hopefully you are aware of RLAS. Our volunteers provide advice at sessions. From time to time we get calls from people who are disabled but cannot (or cannot easily) travel to a session. In such circumstances, we offer advice by e-mail if they send a query/problem by e-mail to us. Unfortunately, few if any persons do e-mail us.
