National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) Guideline for ME/CFS October 2021

This clinical guideline explains guidance (advice) from NICE (the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) about the care of people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), also called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), in the NHS in England and Wales. Throughout the guideline the authors refer to the condition as ME/CFS for short.

It is written for health professionals to treat patients with CFS/ME, and for parents or carers of people with the condition.

If you’re in touch with your GP by email, you could let them know that Doctors with ME provide an excellent executive summary of the NICE Guidelines, and suggestions on how to give patients with ME the best medical care. It’s also very useful for us to read.
